The mortgage market is flooded with offers and deals from hundreds of lenders. Each of those offers comes with certain criteria. In order to find the best possible deal for yourself, you’ll need to work through each offer according to your situation and criteria (long-term, short term, fixed, variable etc) to find the best deal for you. A mortgage broker will do all this leg work for you. Woof.

The clue is the phrase ‘whole of market’. If you approach a lender directly, they will only offer you a mortgage from their own suite of products. And so they should.
